CopanMobile v1.0.2

Description:
Copan for the Pocket PC is a very useful geomatics engineering tool for computing and managing plane land survey coordinates.

It does numerous COGO calculations, processes and adjusts field survey data, computes curve data, performs map checks, calculates areas and perimeters, performs coordinate transformations, imports/exports Ascii files, and has GPS positioning and navigation functions.

It supports quadrant and whole-circle bearings, and gons (or grads) as well as degrees-minutes-seconds.

Coordinates may be saved to the Pocket PC's memory card or to a removeable memory card. The Pocket PC coordinate files are directly compatible with the Windows version of Copan.

CopanMobile for Pocket PC is available for download free of charge.

How To Install CopanMobile for Pocket PC

1. Request a software key
Request a software key from Copan PocketPC Key Request. A key file (COPANKEY.dat) and eight character password will be e-mailed to you. You should receive them within a few minutes. Meanwhile...

2. Download the .CAB file
Download copaninstall.Arm.CAB file from Download Copan PocketPC CAB.
If your download tool happens to strip off the ".CAB" extension from the copaninstall.Arm.CAB filename, be sure to add it back before you use it. (You may need to change the "show file extensions" setting in your folder browser.)

3. Place the .CAB file on your Pocket PC computer
Copy the .CAB file to your Pocket PC. You can use ActiveSynch to link the Pocket PC to your Internet connected computer and then copy the file to your Pocket PC. The .CAB file can be placed in My Device subdirectory.

4. Install CopanMobile on your Pocket PC
Run File Explorer on your Pocket PC. Find copaninstall.Arm.CAB on your Pocket PC and click on it. This will start the installation process.

5. Copy the key file to your Pocket PC
Save the software key file, COPANKEY.dat, that was emailed to you, to your \Program Files\Copan directory on your Pocket PC.
If your email tool happens to strip off the ".dat" extension from the COPANKEY.dat filename, be sure to add it back before you first run Copan. (You may need to change the "show file extensions" setting in your folder browser.)

6. Activate CopanMobile
The first time CopanMobile is run, you will be presented with a Disclaimer which you must accept in order to activate Copan. When requested, enter the eight character password that was included in the email that contained the key file. If activation is successful, you will have access to all the software functions.

7. Download the CopanMobile Manual
Download the CopanMobile for Pocket PC user manual from Download Copan PocketPC Manual and familiarize yourself with the operation of the software.
