Notes:

2. If you set the background color, the screen may blink when displaying contents, no solution by far.

Tips:
1. Create a sub-directory "Library" under MDict program directory, and put all your dictionary files into it with sub-directory as grouping. MDict will auto import this directory during startup when library list is empty.

Dict - free viewer for dictionaries devices based on Windows Mobile.

Dict is a dictionary program with support for .zd dictionary bases (lots of free dictionaries available on the net).

If you don't mind menus in russian and if you have dictionaries converted to ZD format, it is a must have, a small and very fast program. I made my test with a Collins Cobuild dictionnary and I can say that it is a very efficient format which supports hyperlinks.

The program is undemanding to resources of the CCP and has the following advantages:

* Variable Font Size: It is now possible to change the size of the application font and make pfQuizzz friendlier to people with impaired vision (it is also useful when the screen projector is used). * Custom Font: The font used to render all the user data can now be freely changed. All aspects of the font can be controlled including the character set. The setting is available under the Setup Screen (F9) / 'Use Custom Font'.

Notes:
1. Look up multiple dictionaries at the same time is implmented by setting the dictionary group to "Union" in "Library management"
2. Because lookup multiple dictionary in the same time, so if there too many dictionaries in the same "Union" group, it may slow down the lookup speed.And Fuzzy keyword search/Full Text search are not supported in "Union" group. And you can't scroll the entry list in too.
2. If you set the background color, the screen may blink when displaying contents, no solution by far.

Tips:
1. Create a sub-directory "Library" under MDict program directory, and put all your dictionary files into it with sub-directory as grouping. MDict will auto import this directory during startup when library list is empty.
2. If you have audio library, you may name it "Sound.mdd" and put it in the "Library" sub-directory. MDict will use it automatically.

WM-Dict v2.0

Description:
WM-Dict is a cross-language dictionary designed to help you rapidly find a translation of a term from one language to another language.

In addition to Windows, we also support the Windows Mobile (Pocket PC) platform, Mac OS X as well as Linux.

For the purpose of this discussion, we will generally refer to all four programs as WM-Dict.
WM-Dict currently supports the following languages:
• Chinese-English
with over 244.000 words or
with over 420.000 words (incl. "unknown#" entries)

• Chinese-German
with over 177.000 words or
with over 390.000 words (incl. "unbekannt#" entries)

• Chinese-Serbian
with over 9.000 entries

• Note:
A special characteristic of the Chinese-English dictionary is that it contains thousands of theocratic terms.

WM-Dict is very flexible. You can install only the language dictionaries you want to use.



What is the goal of these tools?
As language learners, we wanted a set of tools that were easier and faster to use than the faithful, but all too slow dictionary in book form. With that in mind, we developed a set of language dictionaries that could be used both on a computer and on a mobile PDA. Imagine sitting at home and using your computer to rapidly translating words. Or, imagine being somewhere out of house but need to translate something. You pull out your PDA or Windows Mobile phone and look up the word for an accurate translation.

We had another problem we wanted to solve: some languages don't have a good translation dictionary. Our dictionaries use English as a common language to bind from one language to another. For example, imagine you are trying to translate a Chinese word into Serbian. However, there is no electronic Serbian to Chinese dictionary available. Using our tool, you can look up the Chinese word and retrieve the english translation. Then in a quick motion you can have the program translate the English definition to Serbian.

Portable! Fast! Accurate! and always useful.

w0lf's Translator v1.0

Description:
Wolf's Translator uses the Google Translate engine to provide translations.

It's a small program I wrote, because I find it useful to be able to translate From/To so many languages at any time and it's much easier to use on the mobile phone than the web-based version of Google Translate.

In order to run the program, .Net Compact Framework 3.5 has to be installed on the device. (if you don't have it, just search google for ".NET Compact Framework 3.5 Redistributable")
Of course, you also need an active Internet Connection.

Currently, the following languages are supported by Google Translate:

Please note that the translations are not always very accurate, but if you have a text in a different language you don't know, it gives you a good idea about what it means in most of the cases.

A nice feature of Google Translate (also present in the application) is the Language Auto Detect feature: you have a text written in I don't know what language, I tell it to translate to English, for example, and it not only translates it, but also shows the language of the source text (try this by checking the Autodetect FROM Language check box).


A feature that right now is missing, but I'm planning to include in a future version is being allowed to save the favourite language pair, so when you open the program it will automatically select your favourite languages.

This program has been tested so far on HTC Touch Diamond, HTC Touch Pro (VGA) and HTC P3600(Trinity) (QVGA).
