GVV (Google Visual Voicemail) v0.2

Description:
Google visual voicemail is a semi-offline client for Google voice.

You can view and play your voice messages as well as mark them read/unread and delete them.

When updating, message text is downloaded to a local cache that can be viewed at any time. Audio is downloaded the first time you click play and is stored for future use.

You must update manually by going to menu->update. If you need automatic VM checking, let me know and I'll try to get it into a future version.

GVV has been tested on a Touch Pro 2 and a Treo Pro, all resolutions should be supported, let me know if you experience layout problems.

Instructions:
1. Install cab.
2. On first launch you'll get a "could not log in" error. Click ok, click menu and click settings.
3. For username, enter your full gmail address (ie. you@gmail.com) and for password your password.
4. Click save (click ok on the popup) then click cancel.
5. Click menu and click update.
6. On the first run it'll probably complain about a missing file, click ok.
7. Enjoy.

Known Issues:
On rare occasions I've seen COM errors when trying to talk to WMP and Exceptions (Outofmemory usually) from SenseSDK.

SenseSDK makes the transcript item too long and may cut off some transcript text. This seems to be a bug in the way the item is designed, I don't think I can fix it.

Deleting messages is quirky...
When deleting a message very quickly after starting the app, the cache xml may still be locked. This shows an error message and causes the message to go to trash online but stay in the local cache. I'm looking into this.
Also I can't seem to remove items at will with this version of SenseSDK, deleted items will be marked as such but will not disappear until the next update.

Requirements:
* Windows Mobile 5.0
* Windows Mobile 6.x
* .netcf 3.5

S2P is a stylus-free MP3/MP4/M4A/AAC/WMA/WAV/M3U/PLS/ASX player application. It simply lets you browse your music files & play.

It fully integrates with S2U2; & supports A2DP & AVRCP.

Installation
- Under your PC/MAC/device, extract the content of the downloaded file & copy the CAB file to your device.
- Under your device, run any File Explorer application; go to the folder where the CAB file is copied; run the CAB file.
- If your device got a "Win32 error", please download & install the WMP-OCX-WM5-square-fix.cab (for square devices) or the WMP-OCX-fix.cab (for other devices).

So that you can browse your music files through the folders instead of a plain list.
(e.g. \Storage Card\Music\Artist Name\Album Name\Music title.mp3)
- On the first start, S2P will try to locate the device's secondary storage & scan all the music files.
If there is a music folder (e.g. \Storage Card\Music), tap the bottom "More" > "Set Library" to browse your device & set the root of the library.
- When browsing, press the folder name to list all music files under that folder, including subfolders;
or press the arrow button to list the subfolders.
- To play, either press the filename/song; to shuffle the current list, press the "Shuffle".
- To play album by album randomly, under the Albums list, press the "Shuffle Albums".
- To go back to the Songs/Artisits/Albums list, press the top left back button.
- To view the current album list, press the top right icon. Then press any one on the list to play that music.
- At the single music view, tap the screen to call up the timeline.
Press the left repeat icon to repeat the current playing album; press the right shuffle icon to play the whole music list randomly. When both icons are on, only the current album will be played randomly.
- At the single music view, swipe the album pic to left to goto the next album; swipe to right to goto the previous album.
- The hardware keys are:
Answer - quit
End/OK - minimize
Vol Up/Down or DPAD Up/Down - volume control
DPAD Action - play/pause
DPAD Left/Right - previous/next
Left/Right soft key; swipe the full album pic to left/right - previous/next album when playing the whole library; previous/next when playing selected music from the library
Power/Record - turn screen off

Settings
Run the S2P Settings to change the settings; or when S2P is running, go back to the browse screen, tap the bottom "Menu" > "Settings".

WiFiTunes v0.5.1

Description:
This application will discover via Bonjour any iTunes running on Macs or PCs on your local network and allow you to browse the library or playlist and then stream MP3s directly to your PDA.

Example uses include connecting your PDA headphone jack into a stereo in another room in your house.

Major things that need done are AAC support (at the moment it uses the fmodce library so see here for the file formats supported). I'll contact the fmod folks and see if they are planning on adding AAC support. I've set it so it doesnt bother displaying any m4p or m4a files. Although AAC is superior to MP3 in terms of VBR to filesize, in terms of quality its not very well known that LAME MP3 is in fact better. I heard that if you are using iTunes to do your cd wripping then iTunes AAC does produce better quality than iTunes MP3. But if you want the best then a LAME MP3 encoder plugin for itunes is available for OS X.

Since fmod doesnt really support streaming on the PDA it involved a bit of a hack with a memory buffer. That buffer probably needs monitored properly, I mean at the moment if the music doesnt transfer over quick enough it will just stop playing.

Install via the cab file, then connect to your wireless network, remove from the dock, run WiFiTunes and pick an iTunes share in the top left box. Click on the box to choose playlists. Click on a track and press play.

A C# implementation of the DAAP protocol was written using AppleRecords as a reference so thanks to Chris for doing all that tedious work. Thanks also to SPAlarm for starting a fmod C# wrapper.

Its only been tested on Pocket PC 2003, 2003 SE and WM5. Sorry but it won't work on 2002 because Rendezvous depends on mDNS in Winsock2, which is not available. I plan on updating it to allow the entry of a static IP to your itunes server (will also allow connection over the internet), and when that happens you will need the .NET compact framework installed.

Features:
* MP3 Player
* iTunes Streaming

Please email feature requests or post them in the forum. I'm very intrested in hearing from people who use WiFiTunes and together hopefully we can improve it.

Fixes in v0.4.1
Now continues to next track if it doesnt have enough free memory to allocate to play a track

Fixes since v0.4
Now you can change the list font size
Duplicates arnt shown in library menu
Skips to next track without locking up
Playlist items are now in the same order as in itunes
Stop button graphics changed
2 unused icons were removed from the track panel

Fixes since v0.4.3 - 28th June 2006
Device doesn't suspend while playing
You can add a library by IP address in the case where its not found automatically
Streaming is faster

Fixes since v0.5.1 - 9th July 2006
Now you can download songs
Caches libraries on the device so loading time is reduced dramatically. It would take 44 seconds to download my library, with caching enabled it loads the library in 4 seconds!
Downloading buffer size increased to 50K

Microfi Nitrogen v0.2.1

Description:
Nitrogen is a full-featured MP3 player for Windows Mobile Pocket PC devices.

Nitrogen is a native Windows Mobile application (unmanaged code) that allows you to play MP3 songs stored on your Windows Mobile Pocket PC device. It features a file browser, "Shuffle" and "Repeat" modes, a built-in sleep mode and a command to blank screen to prevent energy waste while playing music. Nitrogen uses the MAD decoder, which is opensource. As the official releases of MAD for Pocket PC seem to be discontinued, Nitrogen uses the libraries from an opensource player (GSPlayer).

Nitrogen was build due to the lack of finger-friendly players for Pocket PC (you have to use stylus even for simple tasks). It features large buttons and you can browse among your playlist by drawing circles on the screen (tapping in the appropriate space). In future releases the program will be expected to have an equalizer and skin support, but such things are still being tested to ensure stability and efficiency.

Requirements:
* PPC Windows Mobile

Sonar CE v1.19

Description:
The SonarCE application is a real sonar for Pocket PC devices.

It uses the internal Pocket PC sound system to detect echo from different obstructions. It is quite precise around 5-10 cm at distance of 10 m. The up distance is only limited by the output power of the device and the speaker. This program can be use in air or in water but in water you need external microphone and speaker closed in water proof case. The main window toolbar contains the most important functions: send one chirp, sonar loop and analyze window. More advanced functions are hidden under settings menu. Additionally program is equipped with testing functions which helps to tune the parameters crucial for the Sonar CE application.

Physical background

The short sound (chirp) is sent by the speaker in interesting direction. When the sound “finds” on its way any obstruction, then is reflected and comes back to the device microphone. The device is in recording mode (after sending a chirp) and records the incoming sound wave. The recorded wave is autocorrelated with the output signal (played sound chirp). If the recorded data have the same or similar course as played one then the autocorrelation function returns maximum. Unfortunately the recorded signal is deformatted by the sound line (amplifiers, speakers, microphone and digitalization) and thus is not really the same. Additionally the correlation function itself generates sinusoid like course (due to limited data set) thus the correlation data needs a post processing. The correlation function can be improved by played the sound with different frequencies within the played time (1). This make the autocorrelation function more sharp (larger frequency spectrum sharper peak in autocorrelation function). The post processing function takes absolute value from the correlation function and reduces the output data to fewer points (let say 230). Every point represents the maximum value from the window operating on correlation function. For example, if the correlation function has 2300 points and the data window is 10 points wide then the first point from post processing data represents the maximum value from the first 10 point (of the absolute values) of the correlation data. The absolute distance measured by any sonar depends on the time the chirp is played (longer time more sound energy is cumulated in the chirp), from sound amplitude and in small degree from chirp frequency (different absorption wave in different medium e.g. low freq. waves can travel longer).

Menu bar and tool bar

To access additional functions, click on the menu options. This allows you to change the way the Sonar CE works, or change its working mode.

List of options in tool bar:
• One chirp
• Sonar loop
• Pause of sonal loop
• Stop of sonar loop
• Clear the screen and the stored data
• Linear mode
• Angular mode

List of options in menu bar:
• File: open, save, exit
• Analyze: chirp, play recorded buffer, auto correlate, post processing, analyze window and ruler
• Settings: set out signal, set wave format, set offset, set scale, use recorded chirp and info
• Tests: check recording, check audio system, check correlation function and search offset
• Help: about and help(now it works)

* Pocket PC Windows Mobile 2003
* Pocket PC Windows Mobile 5.0

TempoPerfect

Description:
Metronome Software for Musicians.

TempoPerfect is a Metronome that runs on your PC, Pocket PC or Smartphone and can be controlled on a PC using your mouse or hotkeys. Unlike mechanical metronomes that wind down, TempoPerfect provides a clear and precise beat that can be acurately adjusted for the correct bpm. TempoPerfect is an essential tool for any musician.

Designed to help musicians play in time, this tempo software creates beat patterns using a combination of accented beats and normal beats. For example, you can have 3+2 timing, or X-x-x-X-x visually. The bars first beat can also be emphasised by a unique sound.

TempoPerfect features a visual beat indicator bar that bounces from left to right in time with the beat. This provides musicians with a very helpful visual cue. For those of us who cannot remember the correct bpm for a particular speed (eg. Allegro), TempoPerfect also includes a tempo guide in the main window.

Features:
* Highly accurate beat simulation.
* Will not wind down like mechanical metronomes.
* Allows beats to be sub-divided into accented beats and normal beats.
* Beat indicator bar provides helpful visual cue.
* BPM Tempo Guide chart for each speed of music (eg. Allegro = 120 - 168).
* Simple and intuitive interface.
* Download for free.
