USER GUIDE

I. MAIN WINDOW CONTROLS:

Window Descriptions

1. Message Window
* Displays messages that were received and sent. When in compose mode, this is where you write your text messages

2. Window 2
* Depending on which mode you are in, displays Contacts List, Messages Sent or Received.

3. Window 3
* Depending on which mode you are in, displays person(s) to send the message to or person(s) a message was sent to.


Button Descriptions

Message Bar Buttons

Inbox Switches to InBox mode.
OutBox Switches to OutBox mode.
Compose Switches to Compose Mode.

Slider Bar Buttons

<> Pushes a Contact into Window 3 in order to send them a message.

3. Repeat for each person/group.
4. To remove a person from Window 3, either double click the person in Window 3 or select the person in Window 3 and click the <> SAVE GROUP
4. Create the group name and save it.

Edit a Group List
1. Go into Compose Mode
2. Select a Group name and move the names to Window 3. (by double clicking the Group name or Selecting the Group name and clicking the > button on the List Bar.)
3. Add and/or Remove names from the Group List in Window 3.
4. Select MENU > SAVE GROUP
5. The name of the Group will already be filled in so just click SAVE to save your changes.

Add Your Own Text Notification Sounds
* MoblMsg allows you to add your own WAV files which you can use to notify you of new incoming texts.
* Not all WAV files will play on MoblMsg. The WAV file must be uncompressed so you may have to experiment to see which ones will work.
* The files must be of WAV type. MP3 for example is not supported in MoblMsg 2.0.

II. QWKTXT WINDOW CONTROLS

The QwkTxt window is a popup window that appears when…
1. You receive a new text message AND
2. Your preferences are set to turn On MoblMsg Text Notifications

Recd: (x)
* Displays when you received the message.
* The number in parens indicates the number of messages that are waiting to be read.

From:
* Displays who sent the message.

OK All
* Click this to close all the QwkTxt boxes that are waiting to be read. (For example if you rec’d 5 messages if you click “OK All” all subsequent QwickTxt message boxes will close. You can go to your inbox to read the messages at a later time.

OK
* Closes the current QwickTxt window and opens the next one (if there is one waiting to be read).

CALL SENDER
* Dials the sender’s number.

REPLY
* Allows you to compose a message and send it to the sender.
* To Reply to this message, click REPLY, then compose a message, then click SEND or CANCEL.

DELETE
* Closes this message and will not save it in the InBox.

RED KEYBOARD ICON
* -The Red Keyboard Icon that appears in the upper left corner of the QwkTxt window will open and close the keyboard so you can compose a message.


III. PREFERENCES

Display & Sort Names
* Self explanatory.

Colors
* Choose from a number of preprogrammed color schemes.

(Hide/Show) Scroll Bars
* If you prefer to use scroll bars, choose SHOW.
* Default value is HIDE.

Sounds
* Choose from a number of different sounds to notify you of Incoming texts. You may add your own sounds as well.
* (See “add your own sound notifications” above)

MoblMsg Rec’s Text All The Time
* (this option has been removed)

Save Messages to (Device / Smart Card)
· -Allows you to save InBox and OutBox messages to your Device or a storage card.
· DEFAULT is DEVICE.

Receive Texts to MoblMsg Only
* (this option has been removed)

Turn (On/Off) MoblMsg Text Notifications
* On

QwickTxt Window will open when a text message is received and the message will be sent to MoblMsg’s InBox
* Off

MoblMsg will not notify you of new text messages but new messages will be placed in your MoblMsg InBox.
* DEFAULT ON


IV. TIPS AND FEATURES

Contacts List
In order for a contact to appear in MoblMsg’s list of contacts, the phone number must be listed in the MOBILE category. If a number appears in the WORK or HOME category, for example, it will not appear in MoblMsg.

Phone Number Format
Phone numbers must be preceded with their Area Code.

Double Clicking
In Compose Mode, you may double-click a person or group to move them in and out of Window 3 (the Send To window). To double click, simply click on the person’s name twice. There will be a short delay so you may have to “triple click” or double click the name slowly for the name to be moved.

Message Split Countdown / Elegant Message Split
SMS Text messages are limited to 160 characters. A message longer than 160 characters will be split and sent as separate text messages by any cell phone or device. MoblMsg has a built in counter that alerts you to the number of characters you have typed when composing a message. If you should go over 160 characters the message will be split in to elegantly. In other words MoblMsg will not split your message in the middle of a word. It will split your message between words and fill in the gap with periods so the user can read the message easier.

Canned Messages / Replies
When in Compose Mode press and hold (aka “right click”) your cursor in the Message Window and a list of Canned Messages will appear for you to choose from.

Uninstalling MoblMsg
Before uninstalling MoblMsg I strongly recommend that you delete the MoblMsg files and settings by doing the following on your device:
1. Launch MoblMsg
2. Follow instructions in MENU->UNINSTALL->COMPLETE UNINSTALLATION

* 2 MB or more, free RAM recommended.
* MS Outlook Address Book installed on device.
* VGA and standard resolutions.
* Designed for use in Vertical Mode but can be used in Horizontal mode.
* MoblMsg uses your device’s Outlook Address Book for names and phone numbers. In order for a contact to appear in MoblMsg’s list of contacts, the phone number must be listed in the MOBILE category. If a number appears in the WORK or HOME category, for example, it will not appear in MoblMsg.

HushSMS v1.0

Description:
A Silent SMS Tool.

HushSMS is a tool to sent a class zero message (aka Flash-SMS) or a stealthy PING message to another cellphone.

The "Silent Ping" enables you to sent a message to another cellphone without the owner getting knowledge about.

The message is discarded on the owners phone and no trace exists. You will get back a message from the operator that your message has been delivered, proving that your message has been received, and thus you can know that the owners phone is switched on.

This is not some kind of hack or whatever. It's a normal function per standard and works on any phone.

Q: Why such a software? A: I regulary need it in my job. Sometimes I have to be sure a specific phone is switched on and I can send information to that phone without it beeing stored (class zero message).


Usage

Copy the CAB file to your device and double click it.
The program is installed to \Program Files\HushSMS\HushSMS.exe.

There are three functions:
Send a normal SMS
Send a class zero message (Flash-SMS)
Send a stealthy message

- To send a normal sms, leave the checkboxes for "Class 0" and PING unchecked. If you want a receipt enable the "Return Confirmation" checkbox.
- To send a class zero message enable the "Class 0" checkbox and write your message.
- To send a silent PING just enable the "PING" checkbox. There is no need to write something in the Textbox, because the target phone will discard it anyway.

If you enter the number manually you can type it in international or national format.
You can alternately choose the number from your address-book but it has to be in international format also.
The program will pop-up a message box to notify you about the success or failure of the sending process. This message box
might be under an overlaying window if you have other programs open (a file explorer for example).

A word of warning: If you send a class zero message to a windows mobile device, your number will not be shown. Instead of the senders number, windows mobile will show something like "Network Message".
So in general this tool could be used in a manner it is not intended and designed for. So be responsible!

MiniSMS Server v0.6 Beta

Description:
MiniSMS Server allows you to access all your contacts over internet, you can send sms to selected contact from the rendered webpage.

What is it?
A mini custom webserver which allows you to access all your contacts over internet. and story doesn't stop here, you can send sms to selected contact from the rendered webpage. The SMS will be sent through your mobile
From v0.4 you can now fetch the SMS from your device to the webpage.
So now read and write both are possible

Use:
You can access your contacts over the Internet, send messages to them remotely from your mobile.
In case you forget your mobile at home and app is not running Don't worry just send "Start Server" and it will respond to your command So then just access the website and all your contacts are in front of you and the Power to SMS them.
Worried about your battery. Kill the battery sucker from the webpage

Ok enough of description now the setup part.
1. Download the cab and install it.
2. Look for SMS Server CP and open it.
3. The app is simple but has some settings, we will now see those.

Port Number: default is 5050, this will be used to connect to your device from internet.

UserName: Password: For setting up this value we need to follow some steps.
Here we are trying to create an entry for our device at www.dyndns.com it is free. Basically whenever we connect to internet the IP will change so we need to check every time what the IP is, so this step can be avoided by using this service. Just register a hostname for your device and access your device using this hostname, so no need to remember/find the IP of your device.
The username/password field are the one which you would use while creating the account in the dyndns.com

ServerName: here fill the domain name which you have opted for. Dont use Http just the domain name.

CurrentIP: buggy but will display your device IP(sometimes)

After this is setup
1.Click Menu and then Click Save.
2.Click Update HTML, this will generate the HTML which will be hosted on your device, and can be accessed through internet.
3.RemoteActivation is for enabling the Remote starting of server. Enabling it will allow you to start the server by sending an SMS having "Start Server" command. in either case you will receive the message back notifying you about the status.
4. In case you want to manually test/start it first click Update IP. this should be done when you have registerd a hostname on dyndns.com.
5. Click Start server.

How to access the webpage.
Open your fav browser. write the hostname eg. http://servermohit.gotdns.org:5050
the 5050 is the port number which you have set up for connectivity at control panel.
If the server is running and every thing is fine you should see a webpage, it will have a dropdown containing all your contacts and a text field you can manually enter some number or just choose the contact and its number will be displayed in the textbox.
enter some sms text and click send, the page will show the status in case message sending was a success then success will be displayed else an Error. In case you want to stop the server click Stop Server this should kill the server running in your device.

DYNDNS.COM
register for an account.
Goto my services and choose add hostname under Host services
Enter a desired hostname with service type category as Host with ip address. provide any random IP address, this will be updated by the app later. refer the attachments also.

This is still under testing and may not work as expected... There is lot to be done.

SMSSyncUp v0.2 Beta

Description:
SMSSyncUp is a very simple tool to "upload/backup" your SMSes to Gmail.

To run this app you need to have Gmail account setup in your poutlook.

Steps to use it.
1. Install it
2. Choose your Gmail Account.
3. Open the application, and fill the Send To: with the gmail id to which you want to backup sms.
4. Go to Menu "Login"(it is not an actual login, you need to configure your Gmail account for it).
5. Login should enable the SMS folders dropdown with all your SMS folders.
6. Select the folder to backup.
7. Go to Menu "Sync SMS Folder". This should start the message conversion to mail format. Progress will be displayed.
8. On completion it will prompt and then ask you if you want to sync.
8. Syncing would send Emails with Subject IMAPSMS| :Sender and the body will contain Message and time, the subject should help you to create proper rules in your gmail account.

TapTapSMS v0.31

Description:
With TapTapSMS you can write your SMS much more easily than with any other way. You can write your message relatively fast (when you are used to it - it takes some time) with ONLY ONE FINGER (e.g. thumb).

Now I will try to make clear TapTap layout. When you want to write on touch-screen with one hand and one finger (thumb) and don't want to concentrate on it (imagine when you are walking the street so you cannot&don't want to concentrate only on your PDA) you need REALLY BIG controls. But when you have big controls you haven't much space for other things like for the program you are writting in. So you want SMALLER keyboard what has BIG controls. And that is exactly what TapTap layout is all about.

TapTap is also adjusted for all people. You can train your thumb and write very fast but when you don't want or cannot write fast there is no problem TapTapSMS won't rush you. On standart GSM phones you must press button once (perfect state), twice or three times (sometimes even more times) to write desired char and it must be in time limit. In TapTapSMS there is no time limit so you can write how fast you want/can. Of course pressing real buttons is really different than pressing "nothing" on touch-screen. But on PDA you haven't real buttons - of course I mean PDAs without hardware phone keyboard (e.g. Asus P525) or big hardware keyboard like on Vario (by the way "Vario keyboard" is not very comfortable because you must use TWO hands and TWO fingers).

I tried to make this program as intuitive as I could but I must mention few details about the controlls. To write SMS you must choose char group and then you can choose desired char to write. If you choose bad char group then tap on small "x" above main write buttons. You can freely move thru text with your cursor-key or with tapping to positions in text.

There is some known problems when you forward a message using this program,especially if your message has " or ' in it,the forwarded message then will not contain all its text.
So it is better to use copy and paste and using reply instead

SMS Reports Eraser

Description:
This is a simple small program, who can erase, so called: delivery report, automatically after the selected time.

If you use SMS message option: Request delivery notification, you probably quick notice, you have to delete all such reports manually.
What could be quite hard, if you send many messages.

This program will do it automatically.

You can set the time, when it will erase reports, after the last one you've got. Additionally, this program can announce the delivery notification with a special sound, at your will. In this case, you don't need look on screen, and turn the backlight on, because you hear the notification.
